:"Choice of equipment depends on what you listen to." :I guess my point is...why waste your money on some piece of shit equipment that isn't going to sound great, when all you have to do is spend a little more money for quality equipment that will sound good with any kind of music? If I were to buy equipment to make a specific type of music sound good I would be buy stuff every few months. It seems like my music tastes change that oftenLOL, I agree about buying quality. I am not saying to buy crappy stuff, but not everyone wants to spend tons of money or give up a lot of room. It is easy to get great sound if you have a lot of money to spend for top of the line equipment and are willing to custom install speakers and give up trunk space for amps and subs. It is much more difficult if you have a budget and are unwilling to give up much room. I was just trying to give him some options on ways to get decent (not great) sound from a simple system. I know how easy it is to spend on audio equipment, either for home or car. When my friends ask me for recommendations, I am always mindful that they don't have quite the passion as me, so I try to keep it realistic for them. It is always easy to start designing killer systems, and it is fun, too! It's just like cars, when my friends ask me what car to get, I say things like "how about an M5? They're only about $80,000 but they kick ass."
